L5 - Series: Argo shot breakdown

  1. Lighting setup.
  2. Material setup (mental ray shaders)
  3. Optimized geometry to reduce render time
  4. Troubleshooted technical aspects of geometry
  5. Created render setup/configuration with break down to render passes
  6. Rendered with Mental Ray for Maya.
  7. Assisted with compositing and mics. image corrections.
   

Molecular Visualization

  1. Created 3D molecule using Molecular Maya plug-in.
  2. Converted produced particle system to high-res geometry
  3. Adjusted shaders (mental ray).
  4. Animation was done via MEL scripting, then baked to key frames
  5. Render layers setup: Diffuse, Occlusion, Reflection.
  6. Post production and motion graphics in After Effects.
  7. Completing time - 2 days including rendering.
   

Muscle Chopper - Eat 3D

Model is created in Maya for Eat3D High Poly Modeling Challenge.

  1. Original design
  2. Used reference images to help me with the development
  3. Consulted professional mechanics in order to deliver proper mechanics
  4. Completed in 120 hours, and consists of 2.6 mil polygons
   

Modeling Tutorial Summary

This time lapse video, of an original 8 hour session,
was recorded as educational material for IADT-Chicago.
I held the 3 day lecture, where I taught modeling techniques
and logical workflow to graduate students.
